How it works

Drivers post the trips they already make. Passengers book the seats that would otherwise go empty. Nobody goes out of their way.

If you need a ride

  1. Search your route

    Enter your pickup and drop-off. You see drivers whose route passes close to both, with departure time and fare per seat.

  2. Book a seat

    Check the driver’s profile, rating and car, then book one seat or more. Once they accept, you can chat in the app.

  3. Meet the driver on the route and pay cash

    Walk to the pickup spot on their route that you agreed in chat. Pay the fare in cash when you’re dropped off.

  1. Post your route

    Add where you’re starting, where you’re going, when you leave and how many seats are free.

  2. Accept requests

    See who wants to ride, their rating and where they’ll join your route. Accept or decline each request.

  3. Collect fares

    Pick passengers up along the way and collect each fare in cash at drop-off. You keep it, minus a small platform fee.

What a ride costs

Fares are per seat, set from the distance you ride along the driver’s route and the price of fuel.

You see the fare before you book, and it’s the same when you’re dropped off. Two seats cost twice the fare. Passengers pay no booking fee.

Example at a fuel price of PKR 270 a litre. Real fares follow the current fuel price and the driver’s car.

Drive your usual route and share the cost

You’re making the trip anyway. Fill your empty seats with verified people heading the same way, who meet you on your route.

Passengers pay you in cash at drop-off. You keep the fare, minus a small platform fee.

Safety on every ride

You’re sharing a car with someone new. These checks are in place before, during and after the ride.

  • Verified badges

    Our team checks every CNIC, and drivers’ licences and registration, by hand. Approved profiles show a check next to the name.

  • Ratings both ways

    Drivers and passengers rate each other after every ride. You see ratings before you book or accept.

  • Share my ride

    Send a live link to family or friends. They follow the trip on a map in their browser, and the link stops working after the ride.

  • Emergency button

    One tap calls a local emergency number, such as Police 15 or Rescue 1122, and alerts our team with your last location.

  • Report a user

    Report anyone from their profile or after a ride. Our team reviews every report and can suspend accounts.

  • Location only during rides

    The app shares your location only while you have an active booking, from shortly before pickup until the ride ends.

Is MyLyft a taxi service?

No. Drivers on MyLyft are people making a trip they were going to make anyway, like their commute, and passengers share the cost. Drivers don’t come to your door or change their route. You meet them on it.

How do I pay?

In cash, to the driver, when you’re dropped off. The app shows the fare before you book, and that’s what you pay. Card payments aren’t available yet.

Where do I meet the driver?

At a point on the driver’s route close to your pickup. The app shows where their route passes nearest to you, and you agree the exact spot in chat once they accept your booking.

What if the driver cancels?

You get a notification straight away and your booking is cancelled. You haven’t paid anything, because fares are paid in cash at the end of the ride, so you can search your route again and book another driver.

Is it safe?

Everyone verifies their CNIC with our team before they can book or offer a ride, and drivers also submit their licence and vehicle registration. You see ratings before you book, can share your ride live with family, and have an emergency button during the ride.

If something doesn’t feel right, report the user from the app and our team will review it.

How do women-only rides work?

Women drivers can mark a ride as women-only when they post it. Those rides are shown only to women passengers, and only women can book them. Turn on the women-only filter when you search to see just these rides.

Which cities does MyLyft work in?

MyLyft works on routes anywhere in Pakistan, from Lahore to Karachi and Islamabad. Rides appear wherever drivers post them, so the more people near you who join, the more rides you’ll find.

What does it cost?

Joining is free. Passengers pay a fare per seat, worked out from distance and fuel price, for example about PKR 300 from Gulberg III to Johar Town. Drivers pay a small platform fee out of the fares they collect.
